Thyristor

A Thyristor consists of region of a semiconductor that is doped pnpn.

(a) For a thyristor with no voltage applied across it, draw the charge density, electric field and band diagrams.

(b) A thyristor is forward biased. Draw the minority carrier concentration in each of the four regions.

(c) What are thyristors used for?
