EU Mies Award YT 2023 Winner – Dinko Jelečević

EU-Preis für zeitgenössische Architektur / Mies van der Rohe Awards in der Kategorie Young Talent

Dinko Jelečević, Absolvent der Architekturfakultät der TU Graz, wurde heuer für seine herausragende Abschlussarbeit im Bereich Adaptive Reuse „VALTER – Vraca Forum Sarajevo“ mit dem renommierten EU Mies Award – Young Talent ausgezeichnet.

Herr Georg Häusler, Direktor für Kultur, Kreativität und Sport in der Europäischen Kommission (DG EAC), überreichte den Preis an Dinko während einer feierlichen Zeremonie im prachtvollen Palazzo Michiel in Venedig. Die Preisverleihung fand als Teil der Collateral Events der 18. Internationalen Architekturausstellung – La Biennale di Venezia am 29. Juni statt.

Aus der offiziellen Jurybegründung:

“(…) The project stems from a precise understanding of the pre-existence and proposes a delicate and sophisticated intervention that operates through the poetics of light and tectonics, dignifying and bringing life to the place. This project is an excellent example of an architectural intervention on an existing building, on how to treat heritage with respect and delicacy, but being proactive and active. The jury wants to emphasize how this project represents in an excellent way the potential of architecture as a conciliatory tool between the past and the present, illustrating how to move forward.”

Die Masterarbeit wurde von Petra Petersson am Institut für Grundlagen der Konstruktion und des Entwerfens (KOEN) betreut.
