The joint excursion gives all students of the 2nd semester the opportunity for applied perception, recognition, analysis and documentation of architecture and urban space. The focus is on understanding and discussing the current building culture in a specific location and its cultural and historical heritage. On site students do studies and analysis using sketches, notes and photographs of major architectural creations, urban structures, urban organizations and socio-cultural relations in foreign urban locations, landscapes, and cultural and social contexts. The summary of these examinations fill a documentation in the form of a joint guidebook or documentation-paper.
The aim of the excursion is to train perceptual sensitivity of the built environment and to develop a judgement for architecture in relation to design, landscape, urban space, to specific forms of life and the historical development.
